Advanced method to calculate stockholders' equity

The aim of this Global Investment Bank was to accurately calculate stockholders' equity in conformance with the operational risk guidelines laid down by financial regulators.  A calculation of Value at Risk (VaR) Operational Risks was set up on all perimeters of the bank to adhere to the advanced methodologies recommended in the Basel II accord.

This programme was designed to enable the client to meet the approval of financial regulators. Investance was asked to intervene in the management of Operational Risks including measurement and reporting.

Deployment of Lean Management for Global Investment Bank

Migration of securities management platform for major retail bank

For the account management Division of a major retail bank, Investance intervened to participate in the migration of the Eurotitres platform.  The objective of the project was the accounting of new operations through a securities platform.  Investance intervened as a project manager to support the client in the migration.

Gear up to weekly Basel II RWA reporting

The Risk Management Department of a major Investment Bank decided to gear up from monthly to weekly reporting of Basel II Risk Weighted Assets (RWA).

The target framework was expected to create the ability to anticipate monthly trends in terms of risk weighted assets and spare regulatory capital.

Investance took the lead on the framework implementation and change management project.

The issues the bank faced were restrictive and varied depending on the country.  Challenges such as varying securities and banking regulations with differing levels of maturity and alongside cultural acceptance of outsourcing and the infrastructure set up in each country.
